Systemic Antibacterials, Tetracyclines

For each 1 gm:
Doxycycline base (as 577 mg/g Doxycycline hyclate) 500mg/g
Treatment of the following specified infections of the respiratory tract and the alimentary
tract caused by micro-organisms susceptible to doxycycline.
Pre-ruminant calves:
– Pasteurella spp., Streptococcus spp., Arcanobacterium pyogenes, Histophilus somni and
Mycoplasma spp. bronchopneumonia and pleuropneumonia caused by:
Chicken:
– Respiratory system infections caused by Mycoplasma spp., Escherichia coli, Haemophilus
paragallinarum, Bordetella avium.
– Digestive system infections caused by Clostridium perfringens and Clostridium colinum.
– Also, reducing the lesions and morbidity caused by Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale in the
respiratory system.
Turkey:
Respiratory system infection caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum.
To be administered in drinking water
Pre-ruminant calves: 10 mg doxycycline hyclate/kg body weight/day (17.3 mg product/kg
body weight/day) for 3-5 days, dividing the daily dose into two.
Chicken: Administered at a dose of 25 mg doxycycline hyclate/kg body weight/day (43.3 mg
product/kg body weight/day) for 3-5 days.
Turkey: Administered at a dose of 29 mg doxycycline hyclate/kg body weight/day (50.3 mg
product/kg body weight/day) for 3-5 days.
Meat and offal:
Calves: 7 days Chicken: 5 days Turkey: 12 days.
Not permitted for use in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption.
Not permitted for use in laying hens 4 weeks before the start of the ovulation period.
100 mg, 500 mg, 1 kg, 2.5 kg and 5 kg.
